Citycable, production of animation films and 3D characters
Through regular communication in cinemas by the way of short to medium length films of 10 to 15 seconds, Citycable‘s aim was for us to eventually produce a commercial of 15 seconds. After making an initial one at first, a relationship was built up over 3 years with the creation of different projects encompassing various types of supports: cinema, adscreen, the Internet (via a video game) and display.
Our role and the challenge
Fully aware of the opportunity in working with Citycable, a project was put together in order to produce more than just a simple commercial for Lausanne’s cinemas. We suggested creating a character who would be the representative – indeed the ambassador – of the brand for the general public. As the technological aspect of the company, along with its function as a TV, telephone and Internet service provider, all had to be highlighted, this character had to be portrayed in a way sympathetic to the needs of the consumer. Thus, it is within this context that we invented City, a red robot small in stature, a mix between E.T. and Wall-e.
After the first commercial, City found itself not only appearing in two additional ones, but also in short adverts for adscreen. City also took part in a video game in the city of Lausanne for the « Habitat et Jardin » trade fair where it is seen hurtling down the rue de Genève after leaving the Rue de Bourg ! Finally, City was also shown on SGA billboards, advertising Citycable’s 3 areas of expertise – TV, telephone and the Internet – via cable.
In just a few months, City became a central character in Citycable’s advertising campaign for the pleasure of children and adults alike.
We were also commissioned by Citycable to carry out other projects including a flipper video game for the Habitat et Jardin trade fair.
